Mary’s Essence Exhibition paintings aim to capture the Hills District from a local resident’s point of view. As in many parts of Sydney, the Hills area is undergoing a massive transformation. It has a beautiful countryside charm with rustic cottages and farmhouses, but now features high raise apartment blocks and major retail developments. The works also reflect on the suffering of the state’s many drought-stricken farmers. The exhibit looks to showcase the Hills’ beauty – its essence – with emotion and hope.
